Other Projects

Projects which are carried out/are being carried out in Türkiye but not under the responsibility of the Turkish Space Agency or other institutions.

MUFS

MUFS

Micro-Satellite Launching System (MSLS) Project was carried out in cooperation with ROKETSAN and the Presidency of Defense Industries in 2018. The Project aims to launch micro satellites weighing less than 100 kilograms into a low earth orbit at a minimum altitude of 400 kilometers.  The overall objective is to ensure that Türkiye would acquire skills of satellite launching, testing, provision of production infrastructure and building bases.

HALE

HALE

‘Hall Effect Thruster Motor Development Infrastructure Project’ (HALE) aims to develop the very first facility in Türkiye where scientists could conduct their research on electrical thruster motor systems. The facility will be produced at th premises within TUBITAK SPACE, with the support of the Ministry of Development. The facility shall pave the way for creating thruster systems required by the Turkish industry in the short and long term and decrease Türkiye’s dependency on foreign resources in these areas.

LAGARI

LAGARI

A micro-class, remote- sensing satellite developed by STM, LAGARI is the very first component of a system of reconnaissance and surveillance satellites which will be used to achieve real-time tactical images in the field, general mapping purposes, following the fauna and forests, observation of agricultural fields and monitoring natural disasters.

TURKSAT 6A

TURKSAT 6A

TURKSAT 6A is Türkiye ’s first communication satellite developed through domestic and national resources in Türkiye. TURKSAT 6A Project began in 2014. Project partners are TUBİTAK SPACE, TUSAŞ, ASELSAN, and CTECH. TURKSAT 6A is planned to be launched in 2022 and orbited at 42° Eastern Longitude. Following its commission in the orbit; the operator and owner of the satellite will be TURKSAT A.Ş.

GÖKTÜRK-2

GÖKTÜRK-2

Under the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Türkiye and developed by TUBİTAK, Turkish Aircraft Industries Corporation, and TUBITAK SPACE; GÖKTÜRK-2 remote-sensing was launched in 2012 in the orbit and is still operational.

IMECE

IMECE

It is the optical remote-sensing satellite developed by TUBİTAK SPACE. Below-mentioned infrastructural work shall be carried out:
•    Hyperspectral Satellite Camera Insfrastructure
•    Electro Optical Satellite Camera Infrastructure
•    Communications Systems Infrastructure
•    Star Camera Infrastructure
•    Solar Sensor Infrastructure
•    Reaction Wheel Infrastructure
•    New-generation Flight Computer Infrastructure

RASAT

RASAT

RASAT is the second micro-class remote-sensing satellite produced in Türkiye after BİLSAT. The satellite carries an optical payload. The satellite was launched on August 17, 2011, and is still operational. The images sent by satellite are used cartography, disaster monitoring, agriculture, environment, city and urban planning.

GÖKTÜRK-1

GÖKTÜRK-1

Designed under the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense and the Presidency of Defense Industry and with the contribution of relevant Ministries, GÖKTÜRK -1 – a high resolution optical remote-sensing satellite - was produced by TELESPAZIO and TUSAŞ. "Satellite Installation, Integration, and Test Center" has been developed at TUSAŞ for this project. The satellite was launched on December 5, 2016, and is still operational.
