RASAT is the second micro-class remote-sensing satellite produced in Turkey after BİLSAT. The satellite carries an optical payload. The satellite was launched on August 17, 2011, and is still operational. The images sent by satellite are used cartography, disaster monitoring, agriculture, environment, city and urban planning.&nbsp;

Space Technologies This department is responsible for preparing/facilitating the plans, projects and other initiatives to enable the design, production and integration of all kinds of products, technologies, systems, facilities, tools and instruments on space and aeronautics including satellites, launching equipment and systems, aircrafts and simulators and space platforms. 
 Turkish Space Agency supports all the activities carried out on space, astronomy and aeronautics sciences on the national level.
 Projects which are carried out/are being carried out in Turkey but not under the responsibility of the Turkish Space Agency or other institutions.
