Designed under the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense and the Presidency of Defense Industry and with the contribution of relevant Ministries, G&Ouml;KT&Uuml;RK -1 &ndash; a high resolution optical remote-sensing satellite - was produced by TELESPAZIO and TUSAŞ. &quot;Satellite Installation, Integration, and Test Center&quot; has been developed at TUSAŞ for this project. The satellite was launched on December 5, 2016, and is still operational.

Space Technologies This department is responsible for preparing/facilitating the plans, projects and other initiatives to enable the design, production and integration of all kinds of products, technologies, systems, facilities, tools and instruments on space and aeronautics including satellites, launching equipment and systems, aircrafts and simulators and space platforms. 
 Turkish Space Agency supports all the activities carried out on space, astronomy and aeronautics sciences on the national level.
 Projects which are carried out/are being carried out in Turkey but not under the responsibility of the Turkish Space Agency or other institutions.
